The fun is back! May will be another month of great gigs and truly awesome festivals. As the spring approached, all of those who are living in the northern part of the globe were patiently waiting for the great open gigs on the fields of Europe and North America.
In this article, we share your favorite 5 festivals around the world:
Funkhaus Berlin, Berlin, Germany
This event has its roots in Barcelona, but recently it becomes Berlin’s thing. This festival is rapidly reaching the top of the German and Berlin’s top city scene. Pairing an emphasis on audiovisual performance with the cavernous GDR-era Funkhaus studio complex and the multi-dimensional 4DSOUND rig, Mira Berlin strives to represent the cutting edge of modern electronic music. The festival is offering an interesting and progressive line-up involving Laurel Halo, Yves Tumor and Lorenzo Senni. Talented DJs such as Vladimir Ivkovic and Inga Mauer will have their performance too.
The Star Festival
Stihl No Mori Kyoto, Kyoto, Japan
May 19 – May 20
This festival is becoming extremely popular in Japan, but also through the world. This is all about the kick drums and it’s going to be a wild party. In Kyoto, if you are able to visit this city, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the traditional Japanese way of life, history, architecture and philosophy with all important marks, but you have a special opportunity to see the creme de la creme of Japanese modern nightlife.
Love Saves The Day
Eastville Park, Bristol, United Kingdom
May 26 – May 27
It seems that the epicenter of all great parties in UK is London, but Bristol have something interesting to offer too. Love Saves The Day is continuing the long tradition for the 17th time. This is a highly independent festival with independent production that offers a great open-minded and youthful policy. You can see Sampha, Andy C, The Black Madonna, Shanti Celeste, Bicep, Four Tet, Moxie and many more.
Closer, Kiev, Ukraine
May 19 – May 20
This great event happens in, probably, the best kept secret club in Europe- the Kievan club Closer. This year you will have the chance to listen to different styles in a nice mixture of house, techno and many experimental acts (Ion Ludwig, Luke Slater, Wolfgang Voigt). The party lasts long and the stunning outdoor courtyard offers a breathtaking view with all of the people dancing under the rising sun.
Hart Plaza, Detroit, United States of America
May 26 – May 28
This is a revolutionary festival with great ambition. After having some financial issues in the past, the Movement gets back in a great style. Detroit will be the place where thousands of people will gather to listen to Carl Craig, Delano Smith, DJ Stingray, Eddie Fowlkes, DJ Godfather, Mike Huckaby and Amp Fiddler sharing the bill with out-of-towners like Nina Kraviz, KiNK and Loco Dice. The festival will have its own underground stage and will provide the audience with various music styles.
