Almost there is no person in the world that haven’t heart about YouTube. The headquarters of YouTube, which is a well-known American video-sharing website is in San Bruno, California. As a matter of fact, this website was created by three former PayPal employees in February 2005. And a year after this, in November 2006, YouTube was bought by Google for US$1.65 billion.

YouTube offers to its users to upload, view, share, rate, comment on videos, subscribe to other users, add to favorites and report. Also, it offers a lot of media videos. In fact, everyone can watch music videos, TV show clips, short and documentary films, audio recordings, movie trailers, live streams, and other content like short original videos, educational videos, and video blogging. Not to mention, almost all of the content on YouTube is uploaded by individuals. But, on the other side, there are media corporations such as CBS, the BBC, Vevo, and Hulu that offer their content via YouTube as part of the YouTube partnership program.

New music streaming service

And, YouTube is planning to launch a new music streaming service called Remix next year. The Remix is a new music streaming service that YouTube is planning to launch next year. The Google-owned company is pointing to a start date of March 2018, the agreement with Warner Music Group is secured. Talks with Universal and Sony are apparently in progress. Also, dealings with Merlin which represents hundreds of independent record labels are underway.
The latest attempt by YouTube to compete with giants like Apple Music and Spotify is going to be “Remix”. Equally, it will follow YouTube Red and YouTube Music Key. However, the new service is coming out as result of criticism from the music industry that YouTube doesn’t compensate artists enough for content hosted on the platform. YouTube elements, including video, in a Spotify format, will be incorporated into the new service.
